"Long Time, Rise" by Emily Thing

Emily Thing, Painter: Kingston, New York, United States; 100 8x8s is a concept I came up with inspired by the online shows of Duane Kieser. I'll be posting them here as I finish them. The work is created on 8x8x1.5 inch cradled wood panels. The sides of the panels are painted and all are finished with several coats of poly gloss acrylic. I use various bits of papers under the layers of paint, revealing textures that can look weathered and worn. Goals I'd like to achieve with this project: (1) share this work with an online audience and get your feedback! (2) find a street gallery space to hang these 100 pieces as one show.
